gender

Genderfluid

A gender identity that shifts or changes over time. Genderfluid people may feel more masculine on some days, more feminine on others, both, or neither — and these feelings can change over weeks, months, or years.

Genderfluidity is a form of non-binary identity. It is distinct from genderflux (where the intensity of a gender changes rather than the gender itself) and from being indecisive — genderfluid people experience real, valid fluctuations in their sense of self.

Pronouns for genderfluid people may change alongside their gender, or stay constant. Some use multiple pronoun sets and ask others to check in. Respect whatever pronouns and name a person uses at any given time.
