Aromantic

A person who experiences little or no romantic attraction to others. Romantic attraction is the desire for romantic relationships — distinct from sexual attraction.

Aromantic (or "aro") people may still experience sexual attraction, form close friendships, and value deep non-romantic bonds. Some aro people have queerplatonic partnerships — committed relationships that are more than friendship but not romantic in the conventional sense.

Aromanticism exists on a spectrum, including grayromantic (rare or weak romantic attraction) and demiromantic (romantic attraction only after a deep emotional bond). Aromantic people face amatonormativity — the societal assumption that everyone wants or needs a romantic partnership.
