My teacher keeps splitting the class into boys and girls. What can I do?
It happens twice a week for group work and every time it turns into a whole thing about where I should stand. I am not out to the class. Do I talk to the teacher alone first?

A quiet private note or email asking to group by table numbers instead usually works — teachers want the class logistics solved too, and "can we mix up the groups another way" reads as a normal classroom suggestion, not a political statement. You never have to explain why.

If the teacher does not help, your school counselor can raise it as general classroom-management practice — mixed groups, no lines by gender — without naming you at all. The fix does not have to come with a coming-out attached.
